Hello Friends,
I haven't been a hugely active member of this forum..(to say the least)...but it (and FD.com) has provided me with a wealth of invaluable info that helped me deal with my diabetic cat,Bruises.
The only time I've posted here was almost exactly a year ago..august last year...re: looking for someone to look after Bruises whilst I was away...
Well, sadly Bruises died on Sunday evening.
He was very old...but generally doing ok..However,last wednesday he managed to get a chocolate easter egg out of the cupboard whilst I was out..(!)...he ate loads of it...and obviously got very sick...diarrhoea for a few of days..blood sugar was obviously through the roof..and very wobbly..
After a few days of trying to get him in decent shape again..he died on Sunday evening as I held him.
I just want to say thanks so much for this awesome resource..all those that have helped me directly..and those that, through their posts, have helped indirectly...
I have a half bottle of Hypurin Bovine (protamine zinc) insulin, about 35 freestyle lite test strips + freedom lite meter (needs the least blood of any home meter)...Accu-chek fastclix lancet clicker (apparently the least painful of any lancet)and spare cartridge of lancets that I'd like to donate to any one that needs them...It's a costly business !!..I'm based in London UK...but happy to cover shipping to anywhere...
PM/email if you want them.

..and If there's anyone in the London area who finds themselves with a diabetic cat..and needs any direct help/advice/training,someone to administer insulin whilst away...I'd be totally happy to help in any way I can..
Thanks again guys and all the best to you and your fluffy friends.
