Welcome to Big John!!
I'm very glad you reduced his dose from 6.0u. If you've been using N, there is a big difference in the way Lantus works. With N, you base your dose on the pre-shot value. This is because N is much shorter acting than Lantus and there is no depot. As a result, with N, you need to have food on board before you shoot because onset is usually within an hour. The nadir is generally at around +4 or earlier and you get 6 - 8 hrs of duration. By comparison, Lantus is a depot type of insulin. For most cats, onset is by +2, nadir is mid-cycle (+6 or thereabout), and you get at least 12 hrs duration. Dose is based on the lowest number in the cycle. Lantus is also considerably more gentle than N.
In looking at your kitty's spreadsheet (SS), you have a test # of 56 below your 131 at +2 yesterday morning. Could you explain what the 56 represents? (Was this at +2.5?). If so, if you look at Gabby's SS, you'll see a different way of noting multiple values in a cell which may be easier to track.
[Edited to add: Feel free to ignore everything above. I just saw that you started a condo yesterday and pretty much everyone already said the same things.]
