Big Hen 2/24

My 94 year old grandmother had to go to the hospital last night after paramedics were called twice yesterday.
She at first had trouble breathing, she uses a nebulizer for COPD like symptoms and hadn't used it first time they were there. She was weak and later when she got up to eat she was nauseous and weak.
When she got to ER they did CT scan and Xrays no results yet, but her hemoglobin was very low, 5. She had two pints of blood last night. The doctor said it indicates internal bleeding. She had normal hemoglobin in Feb. at her regular doctor. They finally got her in ICU before 7 this morning where she was more comfortable and resting.
Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Angela -

So sorry I missed this thread today. Hope your grandma is doing better - I'm sure she was scared, not to mention how you all were feeling. Get well wishes to her and no crazy numbers or restless nights for you.

Lu-Ann

Shes doing better; her breathing is much better and she had another pint of blood today and they are giving her iron.
Didn't get to see the hospital doctor today so don't know what CT or Xrays showed if anything.
She has eaten well today and is was sitting up and alert. Hope to find out more tomorrow.

Henry...I'm surprised was not super high the entire day, both daytime tests were done during a thunderstorm which he is terrified of.
+4 DH tested 280

Praying for your grandmother. Will you please keep us updated on her along with Big Hen.

His numbers are looking good!

Numbers do look good. Maybe Big Hen is being thoughtful, knowing that you need to be focusing on Grandma right now! What a good boy he is!

Thanks, I hope to find out more tomorrow as to what they think is causing her anemia.
Big Hen has been a very good and thoughtful boy today not running and hiding during storm and being still and cooperative during testing while the big boomers were all around.
But he is a very sweet boy most of the time; just a big purring marshmallow and he gives his mom big hugs literally, he wraps both arms around my neck and purrs and headbonks me.

I LOVE those headbonks! Whitey won't let me sit down without them!

Give Henry a pat & hug from Auntie Lu - and we'll see you both at Kitten's big celebration! Good night!

What a sweet boy to be extra thoughtful today! Extra scritches for him!!!

Will be praying for your grandma, your family and those caring for her in the hospital.

Hope you have a restful night,

Libby (and Hershey, too!)
