Good Morning everyone!
Today is a new day, and I decided I'm not gonna stress out! I just tested his bg +11 and it was 371. Eleven hours ago when I gave him his shot of .50u, I felt his fur being wet. So I'm thinking perhaps, he didn't get much of insulin last night. So in less than hour I'm gonna give him his dose and I'm confused between 2 #s. 1u or .75u? Is there anyone out there available to help me with an advice? Another thing, the vial that I just bought PZI Idexx expires this month, and I was told that they are very hard to find, so should I suggest my vet to get me the PZI BCP/ or order it myself? Are they similar type? hank you guys!

Good morning,

If you think you gave a furshot last night, stick with .5 units today.

Ignore the expiration date on the PZI Idexx. You should be able to use the entire vial without any lose in strength.

I just gave him a .80u, little less than 1u. And he's eating now! I have been noticing that he's grooming himself a lot. Is that a sign of anything?

Hi Taline! I see you are in good hands with Terri & also getting advice on Health, but I just wanted to say hi! You are doing great at getting the hang of everything so fast... congrats!!!

There are a number of things that can cause overgrooming, including allergies & stress. Or if it's not overgrooming, but just more than he has been, it could even be that he is starting to feel better & is ready to tidy up. If he's actually pulling hair out and/or you see skin irritation, etc., you may want to post on Health with a separate thread for that, and/or make a trip to the vet. If it's nothing dramatic like that though, I'd probably just keep an eye on it.

Thanks Joanna for your advice. He's only grooming and not pulling his fur or anything. And I notice, it's usually at bedtime, when I go to bed and he comes on my bed and starts grooming. It's kind of nice! But I'll definitely, be watching for any unusual habits.
