Cedric has been OTJ for about 14-15 months and I currently test him each month. Today, he woke me up early this morning when I he hacked (but did not vomit) in bed. We got up at 5:30 and I tested his Bg before I fed them. It took me about 10 minutes get get some blood out of him (he has never been easy). I had to heat my pad up twice (the part he really hates) and went thru 2 test strips. The reading was 194.
I am hoping that this is just a result of agitation. he used to be high 60s to low 70s. Then when Dallas came to live with us, his BGs would be higher at times - I think because Cedric has a tendancy of eating more food than is actually allotted to him. I will update the spread sheet with the latest number, but what are your thoughts about the test? I am going to help MustLoveCats to pack today (she is moving to Jacksonville - anyone know a good vet there?) but will be back this afternoon and will try to test him again before going to bed at 8pm tonight (working 5am shift tomorrow).
Thanks for your thoughts - I nearly fell over when I got that reading today....
