My cat was just started Prozinc a little over a month ago, the vet started her on 2 units 2 times a day. The first 3 weeks it seemed to help a lot although it would not last more than 4 hours, definitely never 12. Then it was a few weeks of only the morning dose working, and the evening dose just had a flat line on her Libre sensor with no movement after insulin. The vet slowly moved her up to 2.25 after 5 days 2.5, after another 5 days 2.75 and another 5 days we are now at 3 units. Now even though she's on 3 units twice a day her BG is having no change at all, its like its stuck!!
I went out and bought a whole new bottle of insulin thinking maybe it was bad and there is no change
I started thinking maybe I was injecting incorrectly some how, but the vet said I was doing it fine. They also said if the needle is in then they should be getting the dose. I'm making sure to switch areas so I don't inject in the same place over and over. At first I thought something was wrong with the sensor because it was like it was stuck on Hi with a flat line but we just put a new one on. She's barely started insulin how could it already not be working?
Im going to try to attach some pictures to show what it normally looks like and what's been happening lately, then hopefully in a a few days I can figure out how to upload all the info so others can better help me. Pictures# 1-3 are what is was looking like for the first few weeks, then pic #4 a week or two of only the morning dose working, pics# 5-7 are now and make it look like the insulin is not working even with increases. Thank you!
