I've seen several links and posts in here about food and the different vitamins etc they contain. But is there a general consensus on the best on the market (regardless of price) wet food in the USA?
Technically the *best* is going to be a raw diet. Popular choice is Fancy Feast Classics, but if your kitty had kidney issues, it is too high in phosphorus for them. I believe Wellness Core and Ziwipeak are nicer, more expensive food (the latter I remember being free from carrageenan and guar gum, which is in most cat food and can cause stomach upset).
Probably the best thing to do is consider the cat's dietary/health needs, keep it species-appropriate (high water content, low carb) and as long as they like it you're good.
I agree the best diet for cats is a raw diet but if you can’t do that there are plenty of good canned foods on the market.
Steer clear of any of the dry foods. They are high in carbs and low on moisture.
