Best syringe/needle size?

Hi, I'm using 31 gauge, 8 mm, 3/10 mL syringe. Is that the best size for a cat? Thanks in advance. Jan and Squeaky
If you are talking about U-100 syringes with half unit markings I have always used
ulticare-pet-syringes-u100-sy5751509436.jpg

these from ADW diabetes , same size you listed , never had a problem

We did not have good luck with the UtiliCare syringes or BD Ultrafine. Utilicare syringes we got (3/10cc, 31g, 8mm) did not slide in smoothly. Felt like...gritty. Like tearing through the skin. The BD Ultrafine ones did not have that problem but were impossibly sticky on the plunger when trying to do fine tuning on doses.

I finally landed on Sure Comfort 3/10cc, 31g, 8mm syringes from ADW, very affordable and they both slide in super-smooth (he doesn't even seem to notice) AND have a smooth gliding plunger for fine tuning doses.

I've always used Monoject syringes. The tabs for the fingers you use to hold back are much bigger and it has a softer feel. It's a love/hate thing, some members swear by them and others curse them, there's no in between. A shorter needle gives you the feeling you're not going in too far, creepy if you shoot in the scruff.

I always used the BD Syringes. Very sharp and I don't get a bunch of air bubbles in them like I did with the Ulti Care. But yes, as far as your dimensions. Those are the size I used.

do you think I got a bad box or something? fine tuning was friggin impossible
I don’t know. Were you having trouble doing the thing where you do a slight twist of the plunger while expelling a tiny bit of insulin? Or was it that you found the whole plunger too sticky? But if you like Sure Comfort, I would stick with that.

the whole plunger was not sticky but every syringe was super sticky right around the one spot we needed to adjust to which at the time I think was 1.75u. And whether you twist or dont twist it was the same result every time: re-drawing after expelling too much lol. So frustrating.

come to think of it they may work fine for the 2.75u we are shooting now I should check. They shot smooth as can be, it was just that fine tuning thing
