I am currently using the U-100 ReliOn Syringes from Wal-Mart. I have a big problem with always getting an air bubble stuck on the plunger part that I can't get off and out of the needle...so frustrating!

Can anyone recommend a different brand of syringes they use and like (one that preferably doesn't have air bubble issues)?

Thanks!

I've used lots of different brands - my favorite ended up being the 'BD' syringes. They all have bubble issues at some time tho'.

Just my 2 cents...HUGS!

Thanks! I will try those syringes. Do you buy them online or in a store?

I don't think I've had one time with the ReliOn Syringes when it didn't have an air bubble stuck on the plunger part. :-/

I also use the Terumo ThinPro syringes and LOVE THEM!!!

but....

Terumo is discontinuing production of insulin syringes at the end of the year  so for people like me, who are going to miss them, buy them up now!

I use Monoject from ADW.

I tried Terumo because that is what the shelter bought for one of the fosters and just couldn't get used to the plunger not being a flat line so I didn't like them that much. You will have try a few until you find the ones you like!

I have used both the relion and the BD. I preferred the BD for use, but the relion for price. I bought them from ADW. Walmart is downt he street, so in a pinch, I could get the relion ones there.

Hi

I use the bd micro syringes and they are okay. My vet told me the air bubble comes from the needle and as long as you don't try to knock it to the top it will just end up back in the needle at the end. If you don't like that idea (as I don't) I was advised on here that you can draw up more insulin than you need, the. put the syringe in the vertical position so that he needle is facing upwards. Flick the bubble to the top of the syringe and then draw more air into the syringe so it merges with the little air bubble. Finally push the plunger upwards so the air is expelled and some of the insulin (like in the movies) but obviously make sure you still have enough insulin left in the syringe. Then find tune your dose.
