I thought you ALL should know this since you were instrumental in helping me with Davidson:
My Vet just called me and I thought he was following up on the recent chart I sent him on Davidson (same as our SS but from my own program since he didn't have Google Docs), however he wasn't.
He wanted to know if I could help a new patient who brought in her cat that he diagnoses with FD.........he asked if I could help her out since I was well versed in handling the testing, injections and record keeping and belonged to a "feline diabetic group" and I would be able to help her get started and understand what needs to be done. He went on to say how helpful I was to him in making him aware of what really needs to be done with FB and how I got all my help from the FDMB and he felt that I knew more then he did when it came to food, home testing, product purchase, etc.......in fact he went out of his way and bought Lantus and administered it to the new patient.
I was so impressed by his actions since it showed that as a Vet he was not shallow and could admit to his clients that he knows an outside source for help, and that he was able to direct someone my way so that I could help them in the same manner in which many of you helped me and Davidson. That's a sign of a GREAT VET!!!
The lady is coming here in half hour and since I have about 3 months supply of everything I will sell her my extra supplies, give her some to get going and guide her HERE so she knows where to start.
So, EVERYONE here can pat themselves on the back since this is where I learned what I know and very happy to have a Vet who appreciates the source of knowledge and where it came from.
Shawna, Davidson.........and Harley too.
