Tested again she is at 59, should I feed her more food? What is a safe number to get to?

Give her a couple more teaspoons of the high carb gravy. The best thing to do is pop the top, put it back down and "squeeze" the gravy into another bowl and then just feed mostly the "gravy" part since that's where most of the carbs are.

You don't want to fill her up so she's not interested in eating later if you need her to.

Need to get her going up at least 2 times without having to give more high carb food before you can relax.

What food are you using?

OK....no problem! I know how it goes when you're so tired you can't think straight.

Hopefully the next test will be higher so you can get some rest. It's getting pretty late in the cycle for Vetsulin so I don't expect her to drop again....but we still haven't been able to get these kitties to read the manual on how things are supposed to work!

Would be nice lol!! So she is at 192! I cant thank you enough for all you have done for us!! You are sooooo appreciated!! Gonna try to sleep, tho I doubt I will get much.

Good job last night, Sharon. :) Thank goodness you had only given the 2.75IU dose.

When you get a chance, please can you add the 192 reading to Bell's spreadsheet so that you'll have a record of the effect of how long it took for Bell to react to the additional carbs. It would also be helpful to you to include a brief note of how much of the high carb (HC) food you gave each time and when you fed it (e.g. +?.?? 56 - Fed ?? tsps of HC food and gravy). Keeping a little note of what worked is invaluable because you'll have it there as a guide should Bell's numbers ever need a little help again in the future.

Thanks had a great helper to pull us through! I didnt think to put any of that in last night, my brain was frazzled lol, and yes thank god she only had the 2.75, Im just so thankful I didn’t do what the vet wanted or she would have been on 4 units weeks ago, I am so thankful for this board and it’s members! Hi Sharon for the 30 minutes
Here is an example. 115 @+8.5
.5 would be 1/2 hour
.75 would be 3/4 of an hour
,25 would be 15 minutes

You wouldn't be the first to have that particular complaint! :D

Are you using a PC to enter data into the spreadsheet, Sharon?

You can enter additional readings into each relevant cell, e.g:

99 @ 4.0 (on a PC, press CTRL-ENTER to start a new line in the current cell).
88 @ 4.25 (press CTRL-ENTER).
77 @ 4.5 (press CTRL-ENTER).
66 @ 4.75 (press ENTER to complete the cell entry).

If you did tests at 20 minute intervals, then use +?.33 for 20 minutes past the hour, +?.66 for 40 mins past the hour.

When you place multiple test results in one cell, you need to manually colour code it. If you click on the Paint Can icon in the toolbar at the top of the spreadsheet it will drop down a colour palette for you.
