Before more time passes - Thank You

There are so many people to thank for the love, support and financial assistance that got me through the last two months. My thanks to the members of FDMB are unlimited and go beyond this event to all that I have learned and shared here with you.

First - all the Lev ISG regulars, who read my updates and followed the journey with me. Thank you for always lifting me up and sending prayers. I knew you were all there with me at every step and every crisis - right to the end.

Next - to everyone that donated to his chip in find - thank you! I could not have gotten any of the specialty care for him that I was able to do without you. I would not have had a diagnosis and could not have given the chemo a shot. There were about 20 people that chipped in, and by far the majority were FDMB members. I don't know your names, but I can guess at a few. Your generosity was incredible, and so needed, and so appreciated.

Venita - what can I say? "Thank you" is not nearly enough. You run a wonderful organization and I pray that it can stay open and continue to help diabetic cats for years to come. You were so supportive of me with calls and emails and setting up and updating his blog. And the catnip toys and cat wipes were very welcomed. As you knew he would, Jeddie went right for that pillow catnip toy and got hours of enjoyment from it. He is now resting his head on it for eternity.

Laura - you are a special person and I thank you for coming to the Vet Specialty Center during his surgery day, bringing me lunch, asking questions that I didn't ask, and giving me two units of lactated ringers with tubing and needles because you knew he would need it eventually. Eventually came sooner that I thought, but fluids were one less thing I needed to worry about, or pay for, in all of this. And I know they made a difference in the last 11 days.

Vicky and Pamela, thank you both for on and off the board support and prayers.

Though he will not read it here, thank you to my friend, Brad, who drove me to and from the vet so I could set Jeddie free of his pain. Brad stayed with me in the room and brushed Jeddie, stroked his forehead and told him he was a good boy, a pretty boy, and handed me tissues. I have always had to do this on my own and I do not think I could have managed this time by myself.

Thanks to Hope for finding the announcement from Jeddie's former owner and posting on Community, and then contacting him for more information and arranging the transport to me. And for paying for the new, big carrier he needed for the trip.

Thank you to Phoebe, her dh, and Sarah for transporting him to me.

Lastly, thank you to Jeddie's former owner for making the effort to find a new home first before having him PTS. Without that, I would never have shared the few years I had with Jeddie. And, as hard as loosing him is, I would not want to have missed getting to know his sweet face and loving personality.

I will love you and miss you always, my sweet, funny boy.

Sheila, thank YOU for being there for us, even with all you were dealing with with Jeddie. :YMHUG:

Sheila, thanks so much most of all for sharing so much with us.

For the rest of us following this journey, through all the tears we learn something about life.

There are some of us (with more than a few cats) who have not been through this part yet.

And I will echo the big thanks to Venita, the Matron Saint of sugar cats.

With all the time she personally puts in for each kitty, her heart could not be bigger.

You have given so much of your experience and time for us it is an honor to share your load even if we are so very far away and send only good thoughts and prayers and vibes.
