Bee updates, not great.

I'm really struggling, so is Bee. I tried to give him time at 1.25u, but he just kept testing too high, so now he's back up to 1.5u, and is still way too high, and I think something is wrong. He has had multiple episodes now where he gets upset, sometimes after trying to vomit (straining), poops where he's laying, sometimes pants heavily, while making sad little noises like he's trying to push more poop out. His stool is pretty close to normal these days (firm), and I thought maybe he's constipated from the budesonide, but a quick google says that's uncommon and may be a sign of some other underlying issue. His appetite has also been really poor again the last few weeks, he's lost a little weight again, and I can tell he just doesn't feel good. I have tried giving him Tiki pates again the last few days, hopefully not making things worse, but he just doesn't want his FF. Still eating kibble, but not nearly as much overall. I wonder if the steroids are just too hard on him? I emailed the vet office about it yesterday and sent a screenshot of his spreadsheet, that I forgot said 'my vet sucks' in the notes from when they took most of a week to respond to a refill request through Chewy, oops 😬. The vet only works a few days a week there, and hasn't been very helpful, now I'm paranoid about the 'my vet sucks' thing heh. He must be in pain, or something. I'll probably have to run more bloodwork on him, and still not have a clear answer.
I don't know how much more I can put him through, it's so hard to watch him feeling so bad, and not knowing what, if anything, I can do.
Should I ask about cutting back, or stopping the budesonide to see how he does? Could it be his pancreas? I need to check his ketones. He's miserable, things aren't getting better. I'm starting to wonder if I need to let him go...

Just tested him, he's at 335 *sigh*. Ketones are at .6 mmol/L currently, which I think is safe to assume is from being 200s-300s all the time now 😞

Let me try to tag several other members that can be available for you to answer your concerns, many members do work during the day but I am sure they will plug in , another thing to know that is very important, cats are very sensitive to stress, you stress they stress, so take a step back, breath in and breath out before testing, Bee senses your stress, and never shoot again, if the needle went in the skin, some insulin could have gone in Bee's system. perhaps if you try shooting while Bee is feeding, it could help.

He isn't due for his next shot until 3pm. He just tested at 353 at 11am *sigh* I guess I should up his dose again, but there has to be something contributing to his levels, he just keeps going up.

He tested 313 at 3pm, I gave him 1.75u, I hope it helps get him down...he's not eating or feeling well today *sigh*
Honestly, he should see a vet. A cat should not be panting or open-mouthed breathing, ever. If he’s struggling getting poop out, he could be impacted and they can take an X-ray and see if he is or not. Do you have an urgent care vet or ER you can visit if your vet can’t get him in?

Increasing his dose was ok even though he should have stayed at the same dose one more day but I’m not going to haggle over that. I just want to urge you to have him seen to see what is going on.

I agree, I just left the vet a message asking if they could get him in asap...

He seems to be acting a bit more like himself this AM, ate his Tiki pretty well, tested 334 😞 Hopefully I can get him checked out in the next few days.
