Last night we got our 1st blue in 5 days!

At first I was a little disappointed when @ +2 we only got a 40 pt drop. But became hopeful @ +4 when it's 202 and @ +5 when it's 186 I did a little happy dance! dancing_cat

This morning AMPS is 400 which was expected since his body hasn't seen < 300 in quite a few days. Will continue to hold the 0.8 dose to see how his body responds.

Also another thing I did differently starting Sunday was injecting his insulin on the sides of his belly instead of around the scruff, shoulder, or along the upper sides of his body hoping for better absorption. Wonder if that also contributed to better #'s we're seeing?
 
Blue is a very nice color, isn't it?

As for shooting locations, I have read many times, that while vets still suggest shooting in the scruff, that the sides are better sites for getting the insulin absorbed.

Hi Ginny! Yes, blue is a very nice color and we hope to see more of it soon :)

I definitely feel more comfortable shooting on the sides of the belly since I can see and feel better where the needle is going. There were a few times back then when I wasn't sure if I shot into the sub-Q level....

UPDATE: 307 @ +6. Hope this is due to liver panick from last night's drop and it will ride out soon.
