The PS were coming down nicely for the past 3 days and this morning he gives me an almost red PS...He seemed pretty "flat" yesterday, didn't dip into the blue zone at all and the nadir was only a 30% drop both AM and PM. Hopefully this is an off day for him.

Sometimes they ebb and flow and have an off day once in a while. You are still making great progress.

The most dreaded saying around here is "This is a marathon not a sprint", we all want to sprint to OTJ (antijinx).

It'a not unnusual to see a rise at .2 before the insulun kicks in. Don't know why your numbers are high this cycle but the early rise is not unusual.

Errand ran a little longer than expected so missed the +4 reading.

+5 - 250

Glad it's coming down :)

Hi bookw0rm! -- I've read that it's normal to see a rise at +2 but I don't really see that trend in Beau. There has been a handful of times I tested him at +2 and I would say 80% of the time he has already dropped and 10% about the same # as PS, and only maybe 2-3 times where he'd rise. Sometimes he gets a food spike but not often.

The only thing I can think of that was different last night was giving him 3 pieces of freeze-dried chicken treat after +6 testing instead of Fancy Feast. But since it's made of 100% chicken I don't think it would contribute to the higher BG today. Any thoughts?

Don't think it was the treats. They're pretty much zero carbs.

That +5 was a reaaly nice drop from the +2 (200 points). For some reason it looks like the insulin's "onset" was a little later today. Maybe it absorbed a little slower?

I'm quite surprised by his numbers throughout the day. Wasn't expecting a yellow PS since the day started out so ugly. It seems he is liking the 2.0 lately and is actually spending more than 1/2 of mid-cycle in the 200's, which is a major improvement!

I went ahead and shot 2.0 on the skinny side tonight since he is not dropping and if I consider the 291 at +10.5 as a 20% meter variance, that means he's been holding steady around 250 since +5. Hopefully the dose was a right call and maybe we will even get to see some greens tonight :)

One thing still confuses me though, his overall numbers appear to be improving but what happened to the blues in the past 3 cycles?
