Beast OTJ Trial Day 8 PMPS 58

Good morning all,

Beast is still going strong, no insulin. I think she has lost some weight with the food change. She is not eating as much as she should but is getting better. She had 3 meals yesterday instead of 2 and she ate well. I was worried she wasn't getting enough calories.

Hardey has been doing the same thing... making open all these cans so he will find one he likes... silly kitty!

Beast is on trial day eight,
still doing great,
losing a bit of weight,
No anorexic kitties need apply,
to be Maui's cabana girl under the lanai.
The falls is coming up fast,
this OTJ trial will soon be in the past,
and we'll party and have a blast!

Dr. Lisa Pierson recommends at least 15 calories per pound per day for a cat to prevent hepatic lipidosis. She has a great writeup on the basics of feeding cats. Beast probably will lose weight but you don't want her to do it too fast.

Hi Liz,

Thanks for the info. I did read and Beast should be eating about 3 1/2 cans of FF a day. We are working on that. She tends to just lick the food until it turns into little dry bits and then doesn't want it any more. Silly girl.

Hi, Kim, Ripley also slurps her wet food until only the 'dry' stuff remains at the bottom of the bowl, and then she usually walks away.
But when I sprinkle crushed freeze-dried treats over the top of the remaining food, she finishes it up

Zener loves fortiflora. I usually add a bit more food with the dry bits and fortiflora and then he will eat more. It's a constant battle.
