Kim, I have to laugh at your typo above....the vet is CURING the diabetes? Can we ALL send our sugarbabies to that vet that can cure it in a day?

LOL :mrgreen: :mrgreen: my morning started way too early!! I did get Beast's starting number from vet and it was 385 at time of Dx in May 2012. Since I wasn't home testing I don't know when her numbers started to get better. So glad for this site and all the people here. I better fix that typo...hahaha

Beast is at the vet to observe,
getting an updated curve,
still at the vet,
no word as yet,
on how Beast withstood
and if she did good
on day 10 of her trial,
we'll probably hear in a while.
Only 4 more days until we hop on the bus for sunny California!

Beast is back from the vet, here are the curve numbers:
7:30 AM BG (my meter) 53
Vet numbers
8:40 AM 143
12:02 PM 107
3:01 PM 111 (vet feed FF)
6:00 PM 96 (tested at same time with my meter, got a reading of 61)
Looks like my meter may be about 35 point diff from vet. Of course Beast urinated all over herself on the drive home so just finished her bath and she is in the room trying to clean herself. The vet is always traumatic for Both of us. Vet says she is well in the normal range and can stay off the insulin. I will keep going with her OTJ Trial. Any thoughts?

Most vets use the AlphaTrak which reads about 30 points higher than the human ones, so looks like your numbers are right on!! :mrgreen:
Looks like the stress of going to the vet brought Beast up a little, but after hanging out in a boring old cage all day, came on down..I'd say you're well on your way to OTJ
Of course the bath might cause a little stress too....probably more for you than for Beast though

Liz, I don't know what kind the vet uses, I forgot to ask. I get terribly side tracked when there. I did watch them draw the blood from the vein in her leg and transfer it into a small vial. They then told me it takes about 10 mins for them to get the reading.
