Bear's Levemir is in, switching from Lantus. Dosing?

This is a late post so I'm not sure I will get much response.
I am going to switch Bear from Lantus to Levemir tomorrow morning.

I did some quick research on the board and found recommendations on another thread from two experienced members to adjust dose to 70%.

Bear is at 2.75u's of Lantus and 70% is 1.925, 2 units is the closest to 70%.

Any thoughts or advice are appreciated.

Good luck! May I ask, why you are switching? For learning and stuff. :) I hope it does what you need!
Thanks Cassandra.
We are switching because little Bear is an extreme bouncer as well as a deep diver at times.
While Bear didn't dive as much on Lantus as he did his original Prozinc I am hoping for more consistency with Levemir.
By the way thank you for your offer on the Mirtazapine but I wouldn't want to take yours because it might be needed for Alice later and cat meds and Vet visits can become so costly. Ouch!

I get my own mirtazapine too or I wouldn’t offer! Lol. Alice never loses her supply. :)

Thank you for explaining. In my tired haze, yes I do remember that being explained before. I think. It’s hard to know some days!

Paws crossed Bear learns to flatten out with Lev. It can take them a while to learn to work the new insulin, so be patient if he still is bouncy at first,
.
Sorry for the delayed response. On a Friday I was off grid in the Amazon.

Wendy it was so good hearing from you. :)
I have to admit your comment about being in the Amazon brought a chuckle and a smile on.
It seems like a line from a movie like Indiana Jones.

I have a good amount of hope Levemir will help Bear.
I hear what you're saying about taking Bear time to adjust to the insulin but I have already noticed his numbers being flatter.
Definitely paws crossed here!

You take care on your adventures. :bighug::bighug:
