    Hi everybody,

The FDA has a recall out on some insulin syringes:

    https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/cdrh/cfdocs/cfRES/res.cfm?id=198053

The syringes are BD Ultra-Fine Insulin Syringe 0.5mL, 8mm, 31G-Insulin Syringes Catalog Number: 326713

I really do not know what is potentially wrong with the syringes, or what the manufacturer is going to do about giving refunds, but I was notified about this and thought it worth sharing. They probably should not be used any more.

THe link you provided state the reason as "Nonsterile syringe potentially exposing the patient to pathogenic microorganisms and a risk of local infection."

    Thanks for posting that information
The 0.5 ml insulin syringes are not the syringes recommended to use for cats so hopefully no-one is using them.
Cats need to 0.3 ml insulin syringes, as they are smaller and it is much easier and safer to draw up the correct dose

Except that for high dose cats like ones with acromegaly. 1/2cc syringes are frequently used. I used them for my Murrefee and now for my Snuffles.
