Hi friends..Baxter really could use a cheerleader cat or a big pat...or maybe I am the on who needs it. :lol:
Baxter is so scared & wont settle down. I have a house full of guest. My mom, grandma & my sisters 2 kids are staying with us until Sunday. On top of all the extra people in the house it's pouring rain & thundering. Baxter wants to get in his closet & hide, but then runs out. I have my grandma staying in that room so he doesn't want to go in there. My mom suggested they go to a hotel, but I hate for them to spend so much money on that when I have spare rooms.
Right now he is in the garage on his bed. I guess that is where he will be staying. Poor little guy.
Suggestions?

Here is another reason he deserves a cheerleader...

I think you are on the right track - find a place he feels safe and let him stay there while the company is in the house. Our grandson screams every time he sees Niko (he is two and had a cat "episode") so when he is around, Niko stays in his area in the basement. When we leave, I let him out in the house. It seems to work.

Glad the stress isn't raising Baxter's numbers.

I picked up two reasonably priced products at Pet Smart the other day. I have daughter's 2 dogs, she just had hip surgery.
One is spray from Nature's Miracle "Calming spray" on sale for $5.99 to spray in favorite spots and Whisker City "Calm Down" that can be added to water $8.24.
Has calmed things down here.

THat is the one reason I dont klike having too many people over
just a thought....is Baxter eating as much as ususal
If not that could be the low numbers....
Shakes does not eat as well when we have company...

Thank you so much everyone. My grandmother moved her bags out of his room for the day while everyone went to the beach. Baxter went I there in hide under the bed...which means very scared. The closet means just scared. I left food for him in the room & he came out & ate more food. He doesn't seem to be eating any less since my family is here. He is just scared. His numbers are about the same as always.
He is in the garage & seems to be fine right now.

I couldnt test today because he was under the bed. I will get a test before I go to sleep.

Hey Baxter - those are some nice numbers - bet you made your mom REALLY happy! Just do like Linus does and go "ROOOOAAAAARRRRR!!! I am KING of this castle!!!" Then go hang out in your closet til everyone goes to sleep! And when they all leave, and the parties are all over, you can have some nice snuggle time with your mom! That's the BESTEST part of company!

Hey guys it's Baxter...thanks for the cheerleaders & the encouraging words. All these people in the house scare me a little bit. I have calmed down some. I have been just hanging out on my bed in the garage. It's nice & quite in there. Nobody bothers me except mom. During the day I hide under the bed. Hehe...no mid day cycle test for me. Mom cant get me there. :lol:. Mom says just one more day & everyone is leaving. Tonight she is going to a big party....well I'm going to try to pull a fast one on her. Maybe some low numbers or something. Anyone wanna help me with some ideas? I better go...see everyone later...maybe when she goes to her party I can post.


Oh that Baxter...I'm sure he will try to pull something before I need to leave for the party.
His numbers are staying good. He is eating well. It seems the lower his numbers the more hungry he is. He is still skinny. Until I have time to update his SS after all my company leaves here are some numbers. I have no mid cycle test. I might try to run a mini curve on sun after everyone leaves. I really need to know what .4 is doing.

My family left to go back to Okla. Baxter hasn't seemed to bothered with them yesterday & today. He has just been hanging out in the garage. It didn't phase him when everyone was going in & out. I think it must have been a combination of the storms & the company the first couple of days.

My party was a lot of fun. I have cake for all of you. I will post a picture soon.

Poor Baxter what a drag. Our civilian Roxie isn't scared of company just terribly anti social - she never leaves her cat tree hidey hole when we have company - Robbie on the other hand is bullet proof - he may have issues but cat is rock solid other wise - you can toss a firecracker at his ass and he'd only move out of the way. Glad Baxter made it thru :-D
 
Hope the party was fun...looking fwd to some cake...hope its as good as the wedding cake you brought us! Grayson said to tell Baxter that IHOPisnt much fun without his buddies!

I, too, attribute devious behavior to Pumbaa, every time he thinks I have figured out that he has shown a pattern. I swear he reads my posts, and what I state on his SS, and then does the opposite of anything I have predicted after analyzing his data! *LOL*

Glad you had a good time at the party, and Baxter behaved himself!
