I got a relion prime today and tested it on me first. First one didn't get enough blood so I knew how much was needed with the cat. (great idea to test on yourself first!)
Bast got his first blood stick tonight, He did well more of a WHAT NOW than a OH F!
A flashlight behind his ear showed a beautiful vein all around!
The lancet thing wasn't deep enough the first time so I adusted it to the middle setting and he bled fine. I Think the fustration of not being able to get out of the bathroom was more annoying to him than the prick. So now he is eating and I put a pan I made for him (small litterbox lined with plastic wrap and lightly full of fish gravel) to collect pee for ketone test in with him.
My hope is he will eat and pee. I am going in in about 15 min to give him 1 unit. He should be somewhat done eating then.
I might leave him in the bathroom for another 20 minutes but I don't want him to hate the room.
He didn't like his treat so I will have to look for something he likes.
