Hi Everyone!! Just wanted to remind everyone about the FDMB & DCIN Raffle baskets and also the "Wheezer Mystery Basket" for Roni and Moonie!!
There are some really awesome prizes in the baskets....you can't lose for $5.00 a ticket! You can choose whatever basket you want your ticket to go in.....
For those of you who are not familiar with the raffle, this is the second year I have been holding the raffle. Last year we were able to raise $1000 for FDMB. This year, I wanted to share the wealth and include DCIN (Diabetic Cats in Need) in the raffle. For those of you who are not familiar with DCIN, it's a wonderful organization that helps find foster homes and forever homes for diabetic kitties and helps provide financial assistance and medications to the foster homes. Many of these kitties would not be here if it wasn't for DCIN. So Both organizations help sugar kitties. Both organizations depend on donations to keep up and running. Spot, my sugar cat, has benefited tremendously from the support I received from FDMB. Like most of you, when Spot got his diagnosis, I wasn't sure what to do and where to turn. I found FDMB and I found such a great support system and on line family! I know you all know what I mean.
A very close friend of mine fostered not one, but two, diabetic kitties from DCIN three years ago. I was part of the transport the DCIN organized to get Twinkie and Beasley from CT to her home in Pittsburgh. Twinkie and Beasley's story is a unique one but long story short, if they were not fostered out, they would have been pts. Dian opened her home and her heart to these orinch boyz and gave them so much love! Unfortunately, Mr. Beasley crossed the bridge a few months ago, but Twinkie has blossomed and is giving his forever mom - yep, Dian went from a foster mum to a furever mom on Mothers day of this year - loads of love.
Roni and Moonie (and DH Brad) are a huge part of our FDMB family and unfortunately, they have been victims of hurricane Sandy and have been displaced from their home. To add insult to injury, Moonie is now having some medical problems. The Wheezer Mystery Basket will help Roni and Brad get Moonie the medical care and medications that she will need.
So please, donate! If you can only afford to donate $5, please do so. Every little bit helps. Right now, we are not even at the half way mark of $500. I thank you, FDMB thanks you, DCIN thanks you, and Roni, Brad and Moonie thank you!!!!
