Basil, 4/1, AMBG=100 Dental Yesterday

Hello Everyone,

I am renting a condo today because Basil had his dental yesterday and I want to report in!

He had two extractions, a canine and a molar. Both had what the vet called active infections and he said he expected to see his BG improve after that clears up.

In all the excitement yesterday of getting Basil ready and out the door, we forgot to test his BG pre-vet! (Can you believe that?) He was 219 at the vet's office, but I am sure that was stress.

He came home with two doses of Burpenex to give "if needed" but he seems just fine so we haven't given it. He also has Clavamox for a week. The vet's instructions said no feeding at all yesterday until this morning, but he was SO hungry, we thought it was doing more harm having him continue to jump up onto places looking for food, so we fed him and he was fine.

That's out report! I'm looking forward to learning if Basil's BG will hover a little lower now that his infections are under control.

Glad to see the dental went well!! Moonie got the same meds & was so fine!! BG;s should go down now--Glad to see Basil doing so very very well!! HUGS to you & Basil!
 
Glad Basil came through the dental just fine. AMBG doesn't look bad, but I'm sure w/all that nastyness out of his mouth, they will be better.

Glad to hear the dental went well. My vet gave me bupe for about 4 - 5 days. (Remember, cat's hide pain really well. I know my mouth would probably hurt for more than 2 days after 2 teeth were pulled!)

Glad to hear that Basil's is doing well after his dental. I hope his bg will give to some nice #'s after he's mended.

Thank you, everyone! Basil continue to do very well. His appetite is hearty. He even has been playing a bit!

He is on sonbean's lap right now and lets him touch his mouth, which we take as a good sign.

I have to say, BTW, that I utterly enjoyed using the OTJ icon for the first time. I promise not to use it every time I post about Basil, but it was fun once!
