Here in CA we are in earthquake territory and I know how scary it is, is everything okay?

That stupid hurricane seems to be heading right for either me or Kim. DH is going to gas up the truck & get gas for the generator tomorrow. I guess I better head for the grocery store. So....what do we do with insulin if we loose power for an extended time? If the generator doesn't keep the fridge going hopefully we will have ice but should it be protected somehow? Ugh.....I really don't wanna go here!

The building I work in is nearly 80 years old and severely overloaded - i.e. my Library on the 2nd floor with compact shelving which the manufacturer and installer made them sign a waiver before installing. And newly added 9 offices in the attic floor above the library. When the walls started vibrating loudly we all RAN out. Home and kitties fine. Building at work fine too, but took me hours to calm down.
Yeah, and now to gear up for Sunday arrival of hurricane. Yipee not - plastic over all shelving at work to protect books in case oversized windows blow out. Building right on the water front.
