Hi, Ruby & all - Just woke up to have my :coffee::coffee::coffee: & deal with Bat-Bat, & jumped onto this thread to read of Baco's latest adventures ... Wow! She decided to "take the plunge" to green BG#s in a big way, didn't she? Quite an active cycle; good job "steering" her back up, Ruby:) - & so glad that @Bobbie And Bubba & @Sue and Oliver (GA) were up & about (and in different time zones than mine;)).

Hooray for Baco - more progress!:cat: (Even if it made you bite your nails :nailbiting: for a little while; looks like she'll do fine now.) Good luck with that interview for a new job, Ruby!:D:bighug:

haha @Robin&BB she really decided to take the plunge big time!
There had to be a moment in time that I would eventually encounter a (sort off) hypo, and this was it. I wasn't scared at all you know, so that was good! I just thought okay, I'm giving her dry food now and go on the forum NOW to ask how t coop with it. she is back at +9 212 now so she doing just fine. I made a new thread btw!

You did it all just right, kiddo! (Ha, I call you "kiddo" because you are 4 years younger than my only daughter!:D)

You ARE young! (Oh, to be that young again ... I wish!:p) Btw, my daughter has spent time in Amsterdam - she loved that city! (She used to live in Berlin, so traveled around a lot while living there.)

Just checking, I thought maybe with Prozinc there was a reason to have a higher level at which you would start calling it a hypo. For whatever reason.

Oh, I am glad you asked. When using a pet-calibrated meter (AlphaTrak 2 by Abbott) the alert # is somewhat higher: We become watchful for hypo if that type meter registers anything under 69.

Thank you. We don't use the Alfatrack, but with caninsulin we start taking counter measures at 71 on a human meter (because it is such an 'agressive' insulin in the hours before the nadir).

Yes, I can understand why you would; have heard that Caninsulin can be somewhat "harsh" to work with.

The only really easy thing about caninsulin is that it definitely doesn't work any more after 12 hours. So no overlap, levels back to 'normal' (high).
