Back from vet. Anything I should worry about w/ these meds?

Just got back from the vet with Hidey. They took blood work for a senior panel (which includes T4), took a urine sample for a USG, and he got his vaccines.

They did a skin culture to check for mites, or anything else before the vaccines and it all came back fine. She's thinking its either a reaction to the fleas or just allergies in general. No way to tell for certain I guess. She gave him Clavamox 125 mg (1 tablet 2x a day) and Chlorpheniramine 4 mg. 1/2 to 1 tablet 2x a day as needed.

I searched on here before I put up this post, and didnt see any warnings or adverse reactions but still feel safer putting this up for maybe current info or experiences.

On a side note, I was very surprised to see how nice my vet was to me. I love her, shes great with my fur babies but me and her disagreed about Hidey's treatment for diabetes. She even asked how he's been doing with his bg and diet and said weight wise he looks great, he could lose about a lb but his weight is not a concern anymore. She was really positive in this visit. I was so worried since we havent spoke since I DEMANDED prozinc lol even with his dental she never met with me.

Clavamox is a very common antibiotic for cats. Chlorpheniramine. Chlorpheniramine is a common over the counter antihistamine which reduces a lot of allergies.

Squeaker has taken Clavamox several times and there have been no issues.

I was wondering if you have considered food allergies as the culprit? Squeaker evidently had food allergies. He was wounding himself horribly. The internist suggested changing his food to Hill's Rx d/d duck or venison. I was not a big fan of Rx food but it worked. It's obviously more expensive than Fancy Feast or Little Friskies but it was less expensive than some of the other brands I was feeding. And after a couple of weeks I could see the difference. You can also buy this food online with a prescription from your vet. The company you order it from can call your vet and deal with that. But it is something I would discuss with him/her.

I also changed laundry products to perfume/dye free. Something else to consider. I would also suggest changing litter to an unscented variety. If it is allergies you never know what the irritant might be.

My vet is thinking its probably the flea bite that triggered the reaction so bad, but that he may also have some slight skin allergies. We talked about the food allergies and she doesnt think it would be it because he hasn't had any vomiting or diarrhea.

As to other allergens in the house, I have been using Dr. Elsy's premium unscented clump litter which is supposed to be virtually dust free, I know its definitely not as dusty as the others Ive tried in the past. I use Tide free & clear detergent, and have an air cleaner going about 12 hrs a day :?

I'm hoping this round of antibiotics and antihistamine will help, I feel so bad for him. His neck looks horrible.
