Hi friends,
Ok I went away from wed 3/31 to Sat 4/3 and my pet sitter was able to give Elmo 1 unit of PZI once daily. No problems reported. He was tested once for ketones which were neg and he ate well and is drinking less.
He started on PZI one unit 3/26 bid. Pet sitter was only able to give once daily while I was away.
Now that I am home I tested him at random times see below.
Sat pm 930pm when I got home = 256 did not give insulin because he got it at 2pm that day.
Sunday am gave one unit 7am no test bad mom
12 noon - test - 292 +5
2pm test - 242+7
4pm test - 276+9
7pm test - 347 +12
Started on 1 1/2 units .PZI bid
Monday - 7am 327 - gave insulin
Noon +5 - 271
no more tests just gave insulin 7pm
Tues - 9am test 303 a little late this am
gave insulin pm no more tests
Today -
no am test gave insulin
test + 4 - 328
Thats it so far I know the testing is random but I am doing the best I can.
I was planning on doing a curve tomorrow , testing every 2 hours .
I also test him for ketones weekly and he is not dirnking or peeing as much and his attitude has improved.
He has been on canned food only since diagnosed. Friskies 3 times daily , along with my other 7 cats.
