My cat, Sparky, was diagnosed with diabetes over 7 years ago. After learning everything I could and making great friends on this board, Sparky went into remission and was successfully diet controlled for over six years now.
Sparky began losing weight. I'm not sure when. I had my third child in July and it's been so chaotic here I'm afraid I didn't notice right away. I was so used to him being diet controlled. I started to notice that I could feel his spine when I pet him the other night. I finally mustered up the courage to test him tonight. 330... Welcome back into my life FDMB. I'm sad to see all new faces but glad you all found this board.
SO tonight i'm looking for a hug, and for anyone who can donate some BCP PZI to us. I'm out on unpaid maternity leave, and my vet won't prescribe without running his pointless tests. I'm still scared to buy the sticks and test his urine. If he's throwing ketones I'm not sure what I can do. So bummed. I fought this fight so rigorously 7 years ago, he's so much older now. 14 to be exact.
