I'm going round in circles trying to find the most suitable B12 supplement to add to Sky's diet. She is a recent diabetes diagnosis but after reading up on diabetic neuropathy we believe she has that as a complication. Suggestions are that B12 methylcobalamin could help her improve - obviously I will discuss this with my vet next week but thought I would try and get a head start on finding something that is suitable.

there are so many options with different ingredients it's making me dizzy.

Does anyone know of the most pure kind that I can get in the UK? I can order Zobaline if I need to but I would prefer to get something from the UK if possible.

Thanks :)

Hi @Sootyca !

A popular methyl B12 supplement in Europe is Dr's Best methycobalamin. It's available from a number of places online but Bodykind often have a good price (and UK postage may be free...)

The Dr's Best differs from the popular 'Zobaline' in two ways. Firstly, it is half the dosage, so you need to give 2 x Dr's Best to equal the B12 in one Zobaline tablet.
Secondly, the Zobaline contains a very small dose of folic acid that works synergystically with the B12. If you want to add this along with the Dr's Best B12 then Bodykind also do a liquid form (dropper) of folic acid, and I think one drop of this is very similar to the folic acid dose that's in Zobaline. :)

Fortunately, methyl B12 has no discernible flavour and because of that most cats will accept it mixed into their food. (It does, however, usually develop a pink colour when moistened. This is entirely normal. It just looks wierd. ;) )

Hoping this helps...

That's perfect. Thanks for the help - this is all brand new for me and you're a godsend :) I want to get her started as soon as possible - had a slight setback though as she dropped to 2.2 and had emergency vet visit. Got her back to 4 but now need to get my vet to look at her treatment.
