Vet has prescribed Azithromycin for Rupert. more as a diagnostic to see if his numbers get better whilst on it, since it would help with herpes infection or sinus or anything respiratory that he might have. Thing is, first ingredient is sucrose. Surely that will elevate his BG numbers anyway, so we aren't going to get any useful results??? or is the amount so small it won't make a difference?
I've had some people on here say don't use it, others say it's fine. Vet called back and said it's fine for him to use.... although we are changing vets anyway because iIve lost faith in her at this point.
just interested to hear if anyone here as used this product and with what results. If he has an infection that is raising his BG levels then it might be worth using just to help with that?? I don't want to do the wrong thing and NOT give it to him if it will help, but on the other hand, I'm a little loathe to be giving sucrose to a cat who has been hovering about 400 for a few days now.
all thoughts apprecieated.
