Hi,
Somehow, in the chaos of buying Contour strips on eBay and having sellers not send them or send 10 when they listed 50, I wound up with an Aviva meter, sent free from Accu-Chek. I really like it - though I still use my Contour too, it has several advantages. Unlike Freedom Lite, it takes blood from the end of the strip (like Contour), which is easier to take from a cat's ear. It takes only a tiny drop of blood - very unlike the older Accu-check meters that needed enough blood for a transfusion. :? Compared to Contour, the test strips are much more economical and easy to get on eBay. This may be because Accu-Check offers Aviva strips for a max price of $15 to people who have insurance, so there is less competition for them. I just won two auctions for 100 and 150 Aviva strips, $8.26 for the 100 and $16.05 for the 150 - plus $8.60 postage each, but the seller said he'd refund excess postage. Even paying all the postage for each, try getting Contour strips for that price - on the first try! (I bid on 3 auctions and won two of them.)
As long as the meter is equally accurate, this looks like a good option, though I also received (VERY belatedly) 50 Contour strips today, and just before that I won an auction for 50 Contour. Once in my life, I hav enough strips to last a while - even after paying Dr. Jen back (in strips) for all those she lent me!
Blessings,
Shirley and Mr. B.
