I don't know about other members but I find the people doing all this spamming to be egregiously selfish and devoid of empathy - and this inappropriate behaviour is very distressing. I wish they would stop doing this.

TO EVERYONE connected with this onslaught of spam posts:

This is a place of caring where people come when their animal companions are not well and where they seek support and information about ANIMAL HEALTH so as to help their precious little loved ones.

PLEASE RESPECT THE ETHOS OF THIS SITE AND STOP BEING SO INCONSIDERATE, SELFISH, AND WILFULLY IGNORANT.

You are not going to drum up any business here. Save yourself your own energy and have some compassion and consideration for the members of this site and their companion animals: we have more than enough on our plates without having to deal with your insensitive disruptions so spare yourself the waste of your own time and desist from causing distress to legitimate members of this site.

There are far more important things in life than the bottom line of your business and the world is not all about you. You should be utterly ashamed of the way you are behaving; it is disgraceful.

STOP.

well said. I don't know if its robots or if perhaps someone with a conscience (is it possible?) is spamming, but its really offensive and unwanted.

I agree. This behaviour is disgusting but unfortunately there are companies out there that provide scripts and pay people to post them willy nilly wherever they can. The more they post the more they get paid so they don't care about where they post or whether it's relevant or offensive to the targeted audience. The internet is a remarkable place when used appropriately but it is also an ideal setting for spamming, scamming and all manner of nefarious behaviour. It seems one of these creeps has found this forum and got the word out!

Nicely done Mogs.

FYI- the people who send them are given lists (like mailing lists for junk mail) of sites and email lists from manufacturers and marketing reps who outsource them for sending. The people are paid usually per each one they send.

I know somebody who is paid to do exactly this type of stuff, and gets paid $80 dollars per person who signs up for some online scam insurance or something of the sort. So I agree with the above, they literally do not care or have any respect for the purpose of this board. They told me the spam wherever possible. I wish there was a way to filter them out.

We definitely try to have the tools to report, and when possible, block spam! It is frustrating, but, it's a fact of the internet. You can pay someone in Malaysia pennies to send as many messages as possible. Thank you for reporting SPAM when you see it!

Quote of the day! :D

Looks like they spam everywhere even Muppet Central

One good suggestion from that site: (that I am breaking in order to post the suggestion  )

"Also, a note to anyone who comes across a Spam thread. It's kind of a personal peeve on my part, but PLEASE, DO NOT reply to it! It bumps it up and just brings more attention to it, which is what the spammer wants in the first place. And since we're a very family-oriented forum, I mean, we're such a tight community, that we are more likely to trust our fellow members and click the links, if they don't realise right away that it is spam. So please, again, do not bump up the topics. It will clutter the forum and we don't want to give our business to these people who just junk up the forum and want to take our money."
Thank you, @Tuxedo Mom !

Let's not give spammers what they're looking for! Simply report spam when you see it. Moderators are notified of reported posts as soon as we log onto the FDMB. We'll get to it as soon as we can.

Thanks and have a good day! :)
