At what point do we do an OTJ trial!???

So Jasmine has been well regulated on 0.25U dose for a while now. Hubby missed a shot when I was away a few weeks ago and she stayed blue easily, so I thought I’d trial a reduction to what I called 0.1U (needle juice and a slight twist of the syringe!) and held that for 12 days and she stayed under 150 easily (I’m ignoring the one pink that was from leftover cereal bowls!) so I have reduced her to needle juice, which feels like nothing at all, but I did check and it is a tiny droplet that’s it sucks in! Haha.

So when do I consider doing a trial of going off the juice entirely? Do I even bother when she’s doing well with insulin?? I’m really curious if she can hold herself though! And I’m happy if she does still need insulin support.

Just curious what others think???

Hi Amy! Good to see you!
Jasmine is doing well.

When looking at remission we want the remisson to be strong, because when /if they fall out of remission it is much harder to get them back into it.
Looking at her SS I think she still needs a drop of insulin because there are a few numbers that are above the 50-120 (2.8-6.6) and ideally we want them to be in green numbers. So I would keep giving a drop a bit longer.

Do you feed her overnight? If you gave a small snack at around +9 of the pm cycle it might help bring down the AMPS.

She gets given a pile of food at bed time to free feed overnight. It’s usually gone by morning but sometimes just a wee bit left that I pick up when I get up.
The worst problem overnight is the kids leftovers on the bench! I will try to tackle that more as I’m inclined to just walk away from the kitchen to deal with it tomorrow, but if I try to keep everything cleared up it might help.

I’m fine continuing her drop if she’s doing well on it! It’s been an interesting ride getting here.
