Taking the steroid was what gave phoebe diabetes. But it can do good. It's an option if she gets worse. And then you have to manage the insulin to fit with the steroids.Smoky is on budesonide which is supposed to be a gentler steroid than prednisone. I give it to him orally, I know how your friend feels as it is taking my kitty a long time to put weight back on.
My friends cat isn't currently diabetic, knock on woodThe budesonide doesn't seem to increase Smokys glucose all that much. However, every cat is different. It is true that I have to dose around the steroid. Smoky has been taking it daily for about two months now. He has been having very good BG numbers over the last month.
