Hi Kids,
Tomorrow is the big day. (really can’t wait till it’s over actually, but SO glad it’s at the new vet’s vs. the old one)
Travel crates with towels are prepared, just gave everyone dinner for tonight.
Vet said that he wants me to test in the morning before I bring them in and if Asher is in his “normal” range don’t give insulin, if he is high for some reason, I could give up to half of his dose.
I am just going to follow my gut in the morning with that. I think I ready every dental post on health  and I see people doing it both ways. I am leaning towards the no shot in the a.m. if I can do that.
He was up in the 300s a bit for preshoots but shooting early a couple mornings got that back down, or at least that is all I changed. I see him creeping up again today esp with that 307 tonight but I know all can change after tomorrow.
I am assuming from what the vet told me I’ll have pain meds to bring home. I think the antibiotics they give is a shot but can’t remember, I will ask again. And I see that the fluids and anesthesia can lower bg numbers, so I’ll have to wing tomorrow night’s dose too. Does anyone think I need to start with a lower insulin dose again for a day or two?
I’ll report in after tomorrow’s “adventure”. Prob won’t be back here until 6 or after east coast time.
Good day and good numbers to all....
