Are these #'s possible?

At +3 Buddy is 65, have to leave for an hour so i give him almost a whole can of hc ff, and 5 min. later he is almost red?! ohmygod_smile
Reason i question this is because I am using a new meter. i have switched from accucheck to the contour, for 3 days now. Could this be a fluke or really possible to change so quickly? any one ever have this experience?

I would retest. The first reading or the second reading could have been a fluke.

Yeah, one number must have been wrong, I'm betting the 65, then with all the carb on board he zoomed a little bit, but even 5 minutes later after eating food I don't think it's going to go up very much. It usually takes 15-30 minutes to see a significant rise after they've eaten HC.

Sorry that happened, why the meter switch? I loved the Accu-check Aviva I used for Gandalf.

Thanks Vicky and Marcy--got some free strips for the new meter, but cant wiat to go back to my accucheck once they're done! Nver ahd a bad read with it.

I use a Contour and have not had a problem like that with it. Is it new? Maybe that particular meter has something wrong with it?

But how about this: he has not seen a 65 in a while, he just dropped over 300 points in 4 hours, and maybe was lower earlier, so rebound is setting in already and then you feed HC on top of it, and he is sensitive to carbs...

I guess it could be p[ossible- but that would mean he went up 300 points in 6 minutes-the meter is new.
