Hi,

This is a new thread continuing my question about remission.

If you want to provide a snack late in the cycle, do you have access to purchasing a timed feeder?

Also, can you start a new thread? We try to cap threads at around 50 posts.

I have 3 more other cats, and one of them has a problem with her kidneys (she is 18 years old),
so i can't just leave the food in a feeder, because there is a chance that she will eat from
that, and it will not be good for her.
She has her own food with low protein, and i need to watch that Simba will not eat from her food,
because it's high carb.

Do you think it will be better to give a snack at around +6 and +9 after PMBG instead of +4 and +9 ?

I think it depends on your cat. I know that's a frustrating answer. There isn't a "best" answer. When attempting to use food as a means of influencing the pre-shot numbers, the basic idea is that your cat starts seeing better numbers because the presence of food stimulates your cat's pancreas to produce endogenous insulin which, in turns, lowers blood glucose numbers. However, this is an experiment to see if it works for your cat. Looking at a day like 5/6, your AMPS was 147 and numbers dropped back into normal range (65) by +5. This would suggest that you're having fed your cat may have helped to drop the numbers.

I understand.
I'll keep testing to know when is best to give him a snack and how much.
Yesterday PMBG was 95. I tested again at +5.75 113. Gave a snack.
Tested at +9.75 105. Gave a snack.
AMBG was 86.
Today PMBG was 87.

If it's not over 115-120 on a human meter, is it still considered ok?
