I would really like to donate some of Fred's stuff to help a kitty who's human is struggling. I'm in NYC so for practical purposes, it's probably best if you are around here. This is what I have

1. Lantus (already posted this in the Lantus section)

2. Heart drugs and Pill Pockets (I posted this on the yahoo heart disease HCM board)

3. Rug runners for wood floors
If your kitty slips on wood floors, I bought $100 worth of those industrial carpet runners and cut them in half to have 3 strips so Fred could walk without slipping these last few months. Would really like for them to help another unstable kitty (or dog).

4. Diapers
I have a bunch of diapers, they are baby diapers and I cut a tail hole for Fred. If you have any incontinence issues they really are a godsend. AT first I thought what a drag to have to use this. But after a few too many accidents it ended up being SO EASY for Fred to wear these 24/7. Half the time over the past year he would walk to the litter box anyway, and go in it or outside of it and do his thing (outside of it would miss, of course) But the diapers were great and I don't really think he ever got what they were for. Now Fred was a very accepting cat, and was so old that he no longer bothered trying to get things off. So if you have a kitty that would pick at these, maybe they wouldn't work. I have a few different sizes.

5. One touch Ultra plus a few test strips (was down to my last batch and had not ordered more). Plus an extra brand new battery for it. I got the test strips off Ebay...much cheaper. But this is enough to last a couple of weeks.

Also have a Freestyle Flash, and very old strips. No longer use it but it's still good.

I have the manuals and test fluid for both of these.

6. Artificial tears in the little one-time-use plastic thingies. If you have an old or CRF kitty, watch out for dry eye it caused ulcers on Fred. If I had known and started giving him the tears sooner, I could have prevented them. They were yet one more thing that kept breaking down on him in the last few months.

7. Do you travel with your Db kitty?
I have two insulin carriers--one is the blue zip up icepack thingy, the other is an electric tiny fridge that plugs into your car lighter and also has an a/c plug. I believe the car charger may have a loose wire, but the a/c plug still works (and a new car charger can probably be ordered). We used this on our drive across the country from NYC to LA--and back--last year.

8. I have a few packets of syringes, BD31gauge with 1/2 unit markings (one with no 1/2 units)...so about 30 syringes. I also have 2 big red plastic syringe and lancet containers.

I would dispose of the syringes in these and then take the sealed container tomy doctor's office where he would dispose with medical waste. I don't know, maybe you can also just trash these, i was never sure so just took them to the doc.

9. I also have a lancet pen and a handful of OTU white fine lancets.

I would love to help out some cats whose owners are struggling a bit with their care, ideally. Although I want to give them to help anyone.
Please private message me if you are interested.

Thank you, Martica. It is very kind of you to think of others when I know you are still grieving the loss of Fred. :YMHUG:
