Just wondering if any of you use Halo Freeze-Dried Pet Treats for your sugar babies? Stella and Chewy's Carnivore Kisses (Hannah's favorite) have been discontinued and we're looking for something else she will like. She prefers beef treats to chicken, so am hoping these will be a healthy choice. The only ingredient listed is beef, so they should be okay, don't you think?

Yep, mine love the chicken best too, but they certainly didn't turn down the beef when we tried that! :D (The beef is nice too because it makes less of a mess if you're breaking off bits.)

Indeed we do! They were recommended here and in one week my cat went from cowering under the furniture to racing to "her chair" for her tests and treat. I have never seen such a wonder treat.

Mine likes the chicken and beef but did not like the salmon, which is quite a bit more $$, so I guess a bit of a relief. Is anyone concerned about the chicken as it has salt and sodium phosphate added to it? The beef is nothing but beef. And yes the chicken is very crumbly and makes a mess, but she loves it.

Thanks!

I also wonder why they feel the need to add salt and sodium phosphate to pet treats/foods. It certainly isn't salted or phosphated in the wild, so why would animal food even need those additives? I suppose it enhances flavor, thus encouraging our fur babies to perhaps like it better? Personally, I would rather they left it out.

I also would prefer they leave it out. Maybe it breaks down differently than the beef when freeze dried????

As to effecting their overall health..... so far so good. I have had full labs done on Hidey 3 times since his diabetes diagnosis because my vet was thinking he was showing beginning kidney issues. Since I changed his diet to fit his diabetes, all his labs have turned around for the better. When he was diagnosed he was getting Halo a LOT, more than I should of but I felt guilty with all the testing and shots lol. Since remission he gets about 4 pieces at night (nickel size I guess). Its become routine lol. At 10 my one cat (Hot Rod) starts crying like crazy for his chicken lol. They have never looked or acted better! Im trying to get my parents to switch their cats to Halo as well, instead of temptations.....but some people are stuck in their ways lol

That's good to hear because Emmy does love the chicken but I worried a little about the salt as she has had some kidneys issues.

We use PureBites freeze-dried chicken dog treats... no added ingredients, just chicken. (the dog treats are cheaper than the cats treats, that's why we buy the doggie ones).

Those Halo Liv-a-Little Freeze Dried Chicken Treats were a sanity saver when I was trying to switch Wink from dry to wet food. They crumble up so much easier than the Pure Bites treats. I'll buy them from Chewy.com when they have a sale going on, like they do right now.

I noticed that Amazon offers these also, but don't buy the 6 pack or 12 pack as it's less expensive to buy 6 of the 2.2 oz individually. Go figure..

I have noticed with the PureBites chicken that some pieces are very greasy and do not crumble. Most are fine.
