CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Animal Protective League needs to adopt out dozens of cats immediately after a fire damaged a portion of the shelter.
A fire in a dryer damaged a room where cats were sheltered at the APL. While the fire was put out quickly, the cats cannot be housed in that area for awhile because of smoke damage. That means the APL needs to adopt out about 100 cats that being housed in that part of the shelter.
Some of the cats suffered smoke inhalation and are being cared for by a veterinarian.
The APL has dropped the price of cat adoptions to $5 today 3/22 and tomorrow 3/23 to encourage people to adopt the animals.
