Anyone Here? Max's BG is near 600 for an hour

Hi and Good morning,

I'm too to give it an hour early now, but Max's +11.25 BG value is 331. Last night at 8:45p his BG value was 368. At 9p I gave him 2 units Lantus.

At +7 hours: 262 Retest 275. And then, again at +11.25 hours: 331

I have to say I am very uncomfortable moving his dose around right now by more than 1/2 hour anyway.

Hi. I'm too late to give the insulin an hour early anyway, but I was uncomfortable with that. I think it's safe to give it now, but I'll wait until 10:00 new time and try again to move the dose tomorrow.

Something strange happened yesterday, and I am wondering if his values are falling too fast: March 10-11 went like this:

March 10th
9am HI (over 600)
+5.5 487
+6.5 443
+8 377
+11.75 368
9pm Gave 2u
March 11th
+7 262 Retest 275 (new daylight savings time)
+11.25 331

Isn't it abnormal to still be fallilng at +11.75? Does this mean he's falling too fast, and is there some issue with that? Now that he went back up to 331 after being at 262 in the middle of the night, I guess he's all right for now.

Thank all of you who have helped me through this very trying time. I think Max is on the mend, and now I just have to get him regulated. I could not have done it without you!

meters are allowed a 20% variance by law. so the bigger the number, the bigger the potential variance is. with a number at 350, the "same" number could be from 280 to 420.

obviously we "see" those as different numbers, but your last 2 numbers last night of 377 and 368 are essentially the same.

any luck getting a spreadsheet set up?

Good point. I did set up the spreadsheet. Max's BG went down to 111 for this am cycle, and it just went up to 160 at +10.25. Some of my friends have a cat named Punkin. She is a firecracker!
