Anyone ever had any problem with PureBites? These smell funny..

A friend sent us a couple toys and some purebites from amazon today...

I didn't notice til I'd already given him a couple that they smell off... almost kind of rancid...

I had some left from his last bag but opened this one cause that bag had gotten down to a lot of crumbs mixed in and I was going to save that to sprinkle on food when they get finicky...

So I was able to compare the two... they're both chicken but the older bag smells more like chicken and the new bag smells...just off...less chickeny and more... maybe something close to rancid... the expiration date isn't til 2022 though.

Can freezedried chicken even go bad?
 
Everything can go bad. Even canned food with certain beans can literally explode. I tease my wife that food doesn't expire at midnight on the date indicated but if it smells that bad contact Amazon with the lot number and bar code, don't mention it was a gift.
The local bakery has been caught picking strawberries with fur off the top of cakes and then selling the cakes as "baked today". Disgusting.:(
 
Now I'm letting my thoughts get away from me...

What if these treats are bad and make him puke up his food after I already give him his shot in 1 hour?

Taking deep breaths...

but freakin out a little bit...lol

You're borrowing trouble but yes I've had them go bad when there's a piece/pieces of fat that didn't get trimmed off. Just don't feed that bag any more, get another one. Return it if you want to or call and tell them

lol yeah I do that.

I contacted purebites but there was no answer, just a recording with a lot of french I didn't understand lol so I contacted amazon and they're going to send a replacement.

I am still going to try to call purebites again tomorrow if i remember in case the whole lot was bad.

amazon usually has good customer service. Better to be safe then sorry.
 
Our civy guy is having diarrhea... just a little but ...hope Jasper doesn't get it too... poor little dudes need a break...and so do I! lol

Just a little bit but enough to leave a couple Bailey-Butt-Stamps on the floor lol so I've been disinfecting the floor and already threw a load of laundry of stuff he might have sat on before I cleaned him up lol

Because sleep is overrated!

I *really* hope Jasper doesn't get it too. I only gave them 1-2 each.

I gotta remember to call PureBites today...but... probably won't with the extra laundry/cleaning and maybe a nap! lol
