Anyone around tonight to help with a hypo?

Newbie was given 5 units ProZinc and sent home. (grrrrr). She is at +10 and he tested 42. She needs someone to hold her hand for a few hours and help her get him up to safe numbers.

We are seeing too many vets prescribing 4-5 units as a beginning dose and sending the cat home. Two ProZinc hypos just yesterday. Wish we could get newbies to start low and go slow.....

Umfortunately newbies don't know any better & trust the vet to have a clue. Personally, I've been in the same boat (w/out the scary.high dose). In retrospect, the vet should have known to check.Cass for ketones when he was first dx'd.

IT really does seem that more and more we are trying to help the newbies
basically save their babies from hypo situations
I wish there was something we could do to prevent this...
