Since this is a human BG tester, is there some kind of feline conversion calculator? Or is the reading accurate for cats?

I use it, my vet recommended it to me. I don`t do any conversions, I just enter the results on the shared spreadsheet and then go from there. I have, however, seen discussions on this board about conversions and the differences in the meters, just don`t recall where.

I used the first version of the Aviva on Snickers for about 7 years before switching to the Walmart Prime meter to save on strips. I never did any conversions.

Yes, the strips surely are pricey. And for me, it is really frustrating because I waste so many because I don't get enough of a blood sample and get an error message. I keep threatening to get stop using it and start using the Bayer Contour Next (if you don't get enough blood on the strip, you can try again -- don't have to toss it like you do with the Accu-chek strips).

See my signature link Glucometer Notes for some information on feline-specific reference ranges using various meters.

I started out with the Accu Chek Aviva Plus and switched to Relion Prime (WalMart) because of the test strip prices. I took my meter to my vets and our numbers were the same.
