Hi all,
I am taking Frosty to an IM specialist on Saturday to be evaluated for his skin tears and possible Cushing's, but before I show him his awful spreadsheet (his fructosamine was 1200 on his blood work from Sunday, by the way), I want to be armed with evidence that what I have been trying to do with his dosage can work and I am not just randomly changing his dose on my own like an irresponsible and reckless cat owner. :( SO, I would really like to bring him a full copy of the article the TR protocol was based on so that at least he knows it's evidence based just in case he tells me what I have been doing is wrong (even though SLGS is obviously a modified version of this protocol.) I feel like I have seen it somewhere before, but when I try to get the full version, it says its $75. I feel like I should support the person who did the research, of course, but I just spent so much money on Frosty's insulin and strips, then the ER vet, then the regular vet (you can read in our SS what we've been going through so far this week), I just can't afford it right now.

Thanks a lot. This was been a week from hell and it's

SLGS is not a modified version of TR. it was a method developed and used here, before TR was published. The article Lizzie posted above is in the Sticky Note on TR.

I showed my vet the documents from the TR sticky -
the explanation of TR:
http://www.tillydiabetes.net/en_6_protocol2.htm
http://www.felinediabetes.com/Roomp_Rand_2008 dosing_testing protocol.pdf
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19592286

And I just looked back to one of my first posts where Sienne & Gabby (GA) gave me this link as well: file:///home/chronos/u-caddc65cd55f4e0b03ea97b7b81201281e2e88ab/Downloads/Tight%20Regulation%20Protocol%20-%20Roomp&Rand%202009.pdf

If you're interested in what others said on my condo when my vet thought TR was unsafe you can read my condo about it here: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/...s-unsafe-opinions-on-what-i-should-do.192715/

Good luck :cat:
