I started testing Cole yesterday 9/27/17. First reading was 223 at +8 and 169 at +13 with no shot given last night per excellent advice from this site.

BG359 at 7:00am this morning. Was advised 1 unit of Humulin N ( which Cole is on) with incremental increases of .25 over the next several days.

Question is when should I be testing him? Anymore help would be greatly appreciated!

I replied on your other thread about testing at +2 and gave some reasons there. Here's the basic testing routine we recommend:

Here's how to approach finding the good dose range:
  1. test every day AM and PM before feeding and injecting (no food at least 2 hours before) to see if the planned dose is safe
  2. test at least once near mid cycle or at bedtime daily to see how low the BG goes
  3. do extra tests on days off to fill in the response picture
  4. if indicated by consistently high numbers on your SS, increase the dose by no more than 0.25 u at a time so you don't accidentally go right past a good dose
  5. post here for advice whenever you're confused or unsure of what to do.

I cannot THANK YOU enough! Last night might have been dangerous to Cole and expensive for us if you hadn't given us your valuable advice. Thanks! And Cole thanks you too - he is our baby.

*FYI* I haven't checked your other thread ;).
I might just add on to hold each dose for at least 3 cycles (each cycle is 12 hours), so you won't want to increase by 0.25U each day. This will give his body a little adjustment time :). This morning he is showing you a bounce, which is to be expected after a NS last night. A bounce can take up to 6 cycles to clear, meaning you wouldn't see how the dose is properly working if he's still bouncing, so don't rush the increases. I know it can be difficult because we want our babies to feel better but it costs in the long run. Keep up the testing, you guys are doing great :bighug:

Cole at 325Bg tonight. Was 313Bg at +6 today. Gave 1 unit tonight and will give 1 unit in am. That will be 3 cycles of 1 unit.
Will need help with pm dosing tomorrrow. Much appreciated in advance if anyone can help. Thanks!
