Another low PS...what is going on

So I just gave 0.5 since I really don't want to be up all night monitoring him. His numbers might be higher tomorrow but that's okay we'll deal with it. I emailed the vet earlier so hopefully he'll call me tomorrow so I can talk to him about this. At least with the 0.5 it's better than nothing, even if it doesn't do much.
 
I'm really wondering if that infection was driving his numbers up a bit and now that it's mostly gone he's gone a lot lower. I can tell the infection is better because his breath doesn't smell awful and he's been acting a lot better. I'm almost wondering if he needs to come down more since the 1.25 kept him in the 100s all day.
 
You're probably on to something.
Make sure you get a before bed test and if numbers are dropping, you can give Salem some higher carb food to slow him down or even to abort the cycle if need be. I doubt the 0.5u will drop him too much but you just never know when it appears that the antibiotic may be helping get his BG down a bit more on it's own.
 
I mean his breath has been bad for a while so maybe that infection has been there for longer than I thought. And yeah, I'm still definitely going to test him before bed I just don't want to have to do it all night. Which I will if he drops for some reason but I don't think he will. Now I just need to actually talk to the vet so I can get that appointment scheduled! I want those teeth taken care of asap.
 
I just tested at +2.5 and we're at 155???? I guess I'll leave some food out but I would assume with only .5 he won't go too low but who even knows at this point.
 
That’s okay I’m going to test again in a little while. He only got .5 which is a lot less than what I usually give him but still.
 
I just gave him some more food so that should help. I’ll check him again in a little while. I’m just really surprised he’s still this low.
 
+3.5 we're at 124. I'll probably try and take a nap or something in a little while but wake up and test him again in an hour.
