Wow,
Benny looks a lot like Bob, only black, vs. gray!
Gotta love the naps after play time

I'm gonna come kidnap Bob! I want a smokey gray boy kitty!!! That's what I had my mind on the next time I got a kitty....then came the little black starving Petunia. :YMSIGH:

The cutest thing about Bob is his lack of a tail. I hope I can get a good pic of it sometime, but he's got what we call his "nubbin", which is about an inch long tuft of fur at the base of his non-tail. When he's scared, you know how cats' tails get all puffed up when they are scared or p.o.'d? His looks like a peacock tail, all fanned out. He must have one or two vertabrae in there, because he "flicks" his "tail" like he has one, and it just spins in circles. Bob's "nubbin" has been a source of many laughs over the years.
He definitely knows he's handsome, and definitely is quite the ham.
Carl

Did Bob loose his tail or is this just how he was made? Pretty neat on the “puff” as we call it here. I hope you can get a shot of that sometime.

Bob was from a litter of five. Three had tails, and two didn't. They were all gray/white though. I always wondered if "mom or dad" was part manx. Mom either died or abandoned the kittens, as they were found only a few days old, covered with fire ant bites and not doing well. Bob has a bite scar on his nose still. They all survived, and we raised three of them. We were only supposed to keep one (Bob's sister Lillian), but couldn't part with Bob when we had to give the two up. He was too cute, and the runt of the litter.

Carl

Poor Bob, sounds like an awfully rough start. But I am sure you have spoiled him appropriately as all kitties should be :)

Funny, we spend money buying our kitties toys, and his favorites seem to be old Christmas bows and empty cigarette packs.

Carl

Cigarette packs!  Take those things away from him!

Poor thing did have a rough start, thank goodness you found them! I bet that nub is cute too!

Our guys have a huge wooden bowl full and toys and play with none of them. The best “toy” is those corrugated cardboard scratchers. Our guys go nutz on them and Asher has a curved one that we call his throne, he always is sitting on it. The downside is tiny pieces of cardboard everywhere when they start to wear out.

Hmmm....I've looked at those cardboard scratchers before, I think I'll skip those now though! My cats like just plain old boxes. That is until tonight. Carl, remember me asking about the cat nip toys? I found a person on the board to make me some. They came in the mail today but I didn't tell DH they were coming. He laid the mail on the table & when I got home THUMPER was on the table with what I later found out was pieces of the mailing envelope all around her. I asked what was going on with her and he said "I don't know, they all started going crazy about that envelope!" I have no idea why he would let them destroy the mail....he was like that with our human kids too..but I found the envelope on the floor ripped open. I gave them each a new toy & they were going nuts. It was hilarious. I've never given them cat nip much but they sure had a good time this afternoon. It did have a bit of a strange effect on Thumper though. I tried to see what she was doing & she growled & swatted my hand.

Oh, yes. Kitties will destroy anything and anyone who gets between them and the 'nip toyz! Glad you were able to locate the maker and get some, Barbara. Usually mine will growl at each other, even if they all have their "own" toy, if they dare to get close to each other while playing with them.
At Christmas, we always have a package of catnip toys or a box of catnip wrapped up for the kitties under the tree. The pretty package never makes it till Christmas morning!

Carl

Yeah, I don't think the package would make it an hour around here! I'm worried Petey will tear the closet door up cause I saved a couple of small ones!
