Another dumb Newbie question-what is a good range of numbers

I have been looking at the spread sheets that many of you have kindly posted to help us newbies. I see that on many, for example, a preshot value might be around 400, then insulin is given and at +4 to +6 the BG number might only drop to around 300. Is 300 considered to be a good number? I know that we definitely don't want to go too low but what is a good "average" number to be satisfied with provided the kitty isn't showing any bad symptoms? Thanks.

This was what I was given when I asked this question :D

This post is originally from BJM. I copied and pasted it here:

Comparing a human glucometer to a pet-specific glucometer is like reading temperature in Celsius vs Fahrenheit. Both are correct. You just need to know the reference ranges to interpret what the numbers mean.

There are NO dumb questions. :-D

In general, we consider a cat regulated if they are in the mid 200s at preshot and double digits at midcycle (5-7 hours after the shot) but not below 40, which is in hypo territory.

dirtybirdsoaps,
Thanks so much. That is the best explanation I've seen and I'm saving it where I can find it again :-) I really appreciate the help.
