Hi! Does anyone know anything about the "Against the Grain" and the "Tiki" cat foods. Their ingredient lists look ok but I'm wondering if they are really low carb as carbs aren't mentioned on their nutrition labels. Also, if anyone has used them...did your cats like them? Thanks

I have never used them. I saw the names when researching suitable foods for my IBD cat. I think they are good, but don't know much about their content. If they are grain free they should be good as long as they dont contain too much vegetable matter. I have been using Soulistic canned food for my cats. I buy it at petco. Its mostly gravies but it is grain free. It is one all my cats like which is rare.

Here's the latest list of foods from Dr. Lisa Pierson (who does extensive research into cat food composition)

You want foods under 10% carbs .....The Tiki cat are OK but it depends on the flavor in the Against the Grain line (if you use the CTRL + F key, it should open a new box where you can enter the brand name and go directly to that listing in the chart)

Of course it appears the ones my cats like are too high in carbs in the soulistic line. I'm glad you posted that chart. They do like the Earthborn Catalina Catch which appears to be much lower in carbs. I'll have to print it out for my next shopping trip.

True. Its very inclusive. I was disapointed Solid Gold wasn't listed there. My cats like a couple of those. I'll have to concentrate on a few brands. I can print the pages I'd need. My cats are weird about food. If i find one they like and buy a bunch, they decide they don't like it anymore.

@Chris & China thanks so much for the new food list. Not only do I go by the food list, I have copied it off and given it to my vet, who is very receptive to any information I have on sugar cats.

Guess I'll skip most of these 2 brands. I too am leery of the Far East seafood. But this list gives me lots of shopping ideas. My clowder seems to enjoy it when I serve them something different every week or so.
